Patient Facilitation Training
In order to deliver comprehensive and aesthetic services, you and your team must play an important role in encouraging higher levels of patient involvement. It's a paradigm shift from what's wrong to what's possible. Exceptional patient facilitation is about relationship building, exploring possibilities, and facilitating the decision-making process in a positive way.
This practice visit creates a learning environment that will stimulate and challenge the growth of the team and the doctor. Through the use of demonstrations, training videos and interactive practice, you will learn advanced communication and facilitation skills, concepts and tools. With Terry and Janis as your guides, you will review and refine your organizational systems and expand your communication opportunities to enhance your patient facilitation processes.
Learn how to communicate with your patients as never before, improving service, results, satisfaction and referrals. Provide the kind of care you have always known that your patients deserve by working with them to develop the best health plan possible. Mastery in patient facilitation guarantees fantastic service for your patients - service they will see, appreciate, and talk about.
"We liked that Terry and Janis came and observed us in action and were able to acknowledge where we already were and not just come in and change everything."

Stages of Patient Facilitation Mastery
Our goal is to give you wings and set you free to make a big difference in the world.
"I gained a ton of information watching Janis work directly with my patients. In a workshop, I couldn't clearly decipher how facilitation was different from what I was already doing. I am now more open and curious about my patients' outcomes rather than being so attached to my own agenda."
- Dr. Mindy Siegel
Dentist, Clinton Township, MI
Learning what patients think and want for themselves
throughout their dental experiences is essential to patient facilitation training.
Your ability to help patients make well-informed and healthy choices can make or break your practice. This stimulating and powerful practice visit is designed to help your team gain skill and confidence on your path to mastery in patient facilitation.
Learning is greatly accelerated when the student has a real desire to learn. We will begin with a clear portrayal of the purpose and significance of patient facilitation as well as an exploration of the myriad opportunities to make an important difference in your patient's lives.
Facilitation Theory and Concepts
A comprehensive overview of communication basics and advanced theories of facilitation in a healthcare setting sets the stage for skill building. The thinking behind facilitation, as well as the steps and stages to achieve excellence in facilitation are fascinating and compelling for everyone with patient contact.
In a safe environment of experiential learning, your team will practice the basic skills of facilitation with one another. Each exercise builds on the first, helping you bring life to the theories and concepts of patient facilitation.
Modeling & Observation
Observation of a skilled facilitator is without a doubt the fastest way to grow your facilitation skills. Your team will learn what to do, how to do it and when to do what through the use of demonstration with real patients, videos and discussion. You will have an opportunity to observe, ask questions, see what works and create your own authentic style.
Practice, Practice, Practice
Clearly, practice is essential to building any skill. When practice follows theory and observation, your team will be enthusiastic about experimenting, taking risks and developing new behavioral skills.
Feedback & Critique
Regularly scheduled coaching calls provide the ongoing support to deepen your skills and achieve true mastery. This is often the missing ingredient in training and the most critical step to success.
